Going Out
Live entertainment and movies were popular leisure options in the 1920s. Elmira had several popular theaters, including the Lyceum, Mozart, Regent, Capitol, and Morley Theaters. Different theaters offered different types of entertainment. Some offered family-friendly fare, while hosted more “adult” performances. People also went to amusement parks, like Rorick’s Glen and Eldridge Park to enjoy dance pavilions, picnic areas, restaurants, and rides. Eldridge Park also had an arcade.
