Wreaths of hair flowers were made to honor and remember deceased loved ones.  The hair of other family members could be added to the wreath as they passed away so that generations of a family were represented in a single frame.

 

Hair flowers were made by wrapping hair around different size rods to form loops and then those loops were wired into place.  A variety of shapes and sizes of flowers and leaves could be made this way.  The individual flowers were then put together in framed shadowboxes as bouquets or wreaths.
